Cookie Centerpieces

Use those special treats for fun family centerpieces.

Cookie Centerpieces!

These silly snowmen were my inspiration. I finally squeezed some time in to try and make these cookies, and I’m sure glad I did.  After putting on the finishing touches, my daughter and I had the biggest grins on our faces, and all we could keep saying were those famous words of the wicked witch of the west from the Wizard of Oz, “I’m melting, I’m melting!” It was hilarious. So, since it was just my daughter and I for dinner (Daddy works the night shift) we put together a special silly snowman table setting. We used what we already had on hand, warmed up some Campbell’s Chicken Noodle Soup, set out those melting snowmen and had ourselves a fun night.

As we sat down for dinner, these silly snowmen brought on loads of inspiration. Though we kept ours simple, imagine what you could do to take it to the next level for a fun party.

We draped a piece of white cloth down the middle of the table to resemble snow. We placed a few of our mini village evergreens throughout the center, and then added those silly snowmen down the middle. I sprinkled some fake snow for a little more fun.

After playing around with our napkins, this is what we finally decided on.

Since we had a few extra marshmallows we used them to make a cute snowman on a stick to place in our glasses of milk.

This fun batch of cookies became a centerpiece in no time, and the best part was that we got to eat them for dessert!

Sitting at our snowman table for dinner, Caitlyn tells me, “You know what Mom? You’re the bestest, most awesomest mom ever!” Now that’s what it’s all about, and believe me, I’m doing this again so I can keep that title.

Take a look at these fun ideas for using cookies as centerpieces.

Winter

Snowflakes can turn your boring dinner table into a Winter Wonderland. Use a white table cloth or material to resemble snow, and scatter cookies throughout the center. Add a snowflake at each place setting, and these cookies are sure to turn those winter blues into an unforgettable family night.

Spring

Try making a batch of flowers for Spring. Look at this creative idea, a cookie tulip in a pot filled with chocolate covered candies. Picture these down the center of your table.

Summer

Summer can bring on oodles of ideas. Sunflowers, bumble bees, sports…the list is lengthy! A base ball theme could be a fun family table setting with shelled peanuts, popcorn, and hot dogs for dinner. Try placing these baseball sugar cookies down the middle of your table and use your favorite teams colors to coordinate. Bring in the bat and glove and watch your kids root for you with joy!

Fall

I tried this a while back for a neighbor treat. Check out our Sweet Thanks article to see our cookie wreaths made simple. Make a wreath and place it in the center of your table or scatter a few cookie leaves throughout. If you want to take it to the next level try something fun and unique like these curled leaves.

I couldn’t resist sharing. These cupcakes can be a great centerpiece too! Cupcakes may just have to be their own article, but until then, imagine these down the center of your table connected with a curly vine.

Now can you see all the fun ways you can whip up a festive table setting for the family with a few cookies. It doesn’t have to be fancy or elaborate, in fact sometimes the little details, those simple cookies, can make a lasting impression. If you’ve already slaved in the kitchen making those awesome cookies, why not get the most use out of them. Your family will think you’re the bestest, most awesomest ever…in Caityn’s words!
